Sea Cadet Experience:
LTJG Kimberly Perkins first became a parent Auxiliary member with the Tomcats when her husband and children joined the program in 2015. She helped with things like organizing the June picnic and serving on the fundraising team. She became the Training Ship Tomcat’s Assistant Training Officer in 2017. In 2018 LTJG Perkins also became the Training Ship Tomcat's Administration Officer. In the summer of 2019, she staffed as Assistant Division Officer for Tac-Med Advanced Training at Fort Custer. After serving as both the Assistant Training Officer and Administration Officer for the Training Ship Tomcat, LTJG Perkins transferred to the Tomcat Squadron in May of 2020 to serve as the Information Technology Officer. In 2021 she became the Squadron's Training Officer before accepting the position of Operations Officer for the unit a few months after that. In July 2021 LTJG Perkins staffed as a Division Officer for Recruit Training at Fort Custer and in August the same year as a Division officer for the first ever Health and Readiness Advanced Training in Garden City, MI. Military Experience: Personally NONE, however she is married to an Army Veteran of 24 years. Civilian Experience: LTJG Perkins worked as a carpenter for over ten years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She focused her time on her children, family and volunteering in the school. Working in the classroom on projects, helping with picture day and as the chairperson running the scholastic book fair before returning to school herself. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baker College in 2015 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in the field of Cardiac Sonography. LTJG Perkins currently works as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in a primary care practice and as needed at a Cardiology practice. In addition to serving in the Sea Cadets, LTJG Perkins still volunteers at school and is also a member of the ABHS AF JROTC Booster Club Executive Board. |
